Hello and welcome!
What is Reba's Fancy about? It's alllll about REBA! Cuz, you know, she's awesome and deserves to have whole websites dedicated to her and her career!
From her early years as a child, on to the Rodeo, music and performing, TV and Broadway - she's done it all! And her fans have been with her every step of the way. She means so much to us; so why not put together a website to honor her distinguished career?
The first time I ever remember hearing Reba was when I was eight years old (*cough*, just a few years ago, you know). I was playing over at my neighbors house and they had her newly released record playing 'The Last One to Know'. The song that came on that made me stop what I was doing to listen was 'What You Gonna Do About Me' which perfectly reflected what was going on in my life at the time. That was it - I was hooked. I became a Reba fanatic overnight. The emotion she portrayed in that song touched me to my soul. I still can't listen to that song today without tearing up.
Of course, I started buying all her albums, collecting everything I could (proud to say that 28 years later, I have an enormous Reba collection), and scrounging up all I had from chores, etc to join her fan club and go to her concerts (with a parental escort of course).
Back then, when a fan club member, you could get back stage passes to see her after the concerts. I met her the first time at a concert she put on at Astroworld (Houston, TX). I believe I was 14 or 15, sometime around 1994 or 1995. I was star struck for sure! We were all gathered waiting for Reba to come out. I was pretty nervous.
She came out in a white t-shirt, knee-length black skirt and a black baseball cap - lookin' cute as a button. Eventually, I got up enough nerve to ask her a question so I raised my hand. She nodded and pointed in my direction, letting me have the floor. I'm not exactly sure what came out - but it was a cross between a squeak and a muffled sigh. I told you I was star struck! She was so gracious and eventually I managed to get something out but it wasn't near the profound statement I wanted to make. I remember someone else asking her a question right after me. "Do you like ice cream?" "Yes, I love ice cream", she responded. "But I don't get to eat it very often because it kills my sinuses."
Why couldn't I ask a question like that?!?
Anyway, thankfully, I can meet her now and not completely melt. She's just a cutie pie and I love her to death, as any of her fans can relate. There is no other like her and I can even commend myself that at such an early age, I picked the best role model ever!
I hope you enjoy this site. It will grow with time with more information, pictures, projects, etc so check back often.
